3:00 – 4:30 PM Eastern

Deane will be hosting a virtual pumpkin carving class for individual attendees and pairs. Parents and grandparents can participate with a child! Couples are welcome! Limit 2 attendees per Zoom device. Zoom links will be emailed to attendees one hour before class time.

In addition to a large heavy pumpkin, you’ll need to order Deane’s basic tool kit in advance, so you’ll be ready for class! Allow at least 4 days for shipping.

Attendees age 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult .  We won’t use knives or sharp tools. Let’s get messy!

Attendees are required to have basic loop tools and a pumpkin to carve. The grocery store pumpkin carving kits are not used for this method. You’ll need clay loop tools. For these virtual classes, you’ll need to order your tools in advance. Please allow one week for shipping.

HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR PUMPKIN: This style of pumpkin carving requires a pumpkin that has thick walls. You don’t want to cut all the way through, so you’ll need a pumpkin that’s heavy for its size. Pick it up and compare it to similar pumpkins. You want the heaviest. Also try to find a pumpkin with a thick, dark green stem. That means it’s freshly harvested and will stay fresh longer before its carved (once it’s carved, it’s gonna rot). Butternut squashes are a good substitute if no pumpkins are available in your area.
